Easter Eats - Sparkle & Spice cookies

Need a break from chocolate over the long weekend? Get the kids in the kitchen with these delicious, spiced cookies created by Recipe Mumma. This recipe is specifically designed to be simple and straightforward to encourage little helpers. At the end, you'll be left with a fantastic base to decorate however you like! Save down the recipe cards at the end to keep for later.

You'll need:

 

180g butter, softened

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ginger

1 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 cups plain flour

Cookie cutters & rolling pin

Method:

Heat oven to 175 degrees celsius.

 

Place butter in a large bowl and beat with electric beaters until smooth and creamy. Add maple syrup and beat until combined.

 

Add dry ingredients and continue to beat until mixed in. Bring dough together with hands and shape into a ball.

 

Wrap ball with plastic wrap and refridgerate for at least 30 minutes.

 

Remove dough from plastic and place between 2 sheets of baking paper. Roll out dough to 5mm thick. Remove top baking sheet and press cookie cutters into dough.

Place cut outs onto a lined baking tray. Bake for 12 minutes and decorate as per recipe cards!.
