Fairy Bread Day: Sweetly supporting kids in need

Fairy Bread Day: Sweetly supporting kids in need

Did you know there’s a day dedicated to the sweet Aussie treat we all know and love? Back on November 24th, 2014, Adam Schell joked “There should be a day to celebrate this!”, and the rest is history. Forward to today, National Fairy Bread Day has been celebrated for a decade and supported several impactful Australian charities, including The Pyjama Foundation; an organisation empowering children in foster care with the tools they need to build a brighter future.

To celebrate the day for an effortless Aussie kids party icon, here’s our favourite fairy bread recipe. You’ll need:

  • 8 slices soft white bread
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • ¼ cup hundreds and thousands

 Steps to make it:

  1. Lightly spread butter on one side of the slices of break
  2. Use hundreds and thousands to coat the entire buttered side of each slice of bread
  3. Cut each slice on an angle to form triangles
  4. Serve and enjoy!
