Winter Eats - Apple Pie Scrolls
Keep the kids scrolling in the kitchen (not on the iPad) these holidays with these delicious winter treats by @recipemumma
You'll need:
2 cups self raising flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup tinned apple sliced, mashed
50g butter softened
1/4 cup date syrup
1/3 cup tinned apple slices, mashed
Method:
Heat oven to 180 degrees celsius.

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add apple and mix with a spoon until dough starts to form. Use hands to bring dough together into a ball.

Place dough onto a generously floured bench. With lightly floured hands, lightly knead for one minute.

Roll dough with a flour dusted rolling pin to form a large 20 x 30cm rectangle with the dough 1cm thick.

Whisk butter and date syrup together until smooth. Add apple and stir until a paste forms. Spread evenly onto dough.

Roll up lengthwise and slice into 10 pieces. Arrange close together in a 20cm round, lined pie dish. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until golden
